Welcome to Cardiff Yacht Club

Cardiff Yacht Club is a thriving yacht club that was originally founded in Cardiff in 1900. Today, the club is centrally located on the edge of Cardiff Bay, overlooking the Wetlands Nature Reserve, with panoramic views over the Bay and the Bristol Channel beyond.

We have about 300 yachts and motorboats permanently moored on either our trot moorings or pontoons in the freshwater bay. There are over 50 dinghies in the club and we have a fully equiped boat yard with 2 boat hoists.

Main slipway repairs - January 2026

Notice to Members with Vessels on the hard. NO Member vehicles are permitted within the inner yard Monday to Friday until the end of January. There are heavy machines working on the repair of the main slipway walls. Please park adjacent to the Main yard gate and walk into the Yard. Yard Power Out - Morning of Sat 17th January 2026

There will be NO Electrical POWER in the BOAT YARDS from 07:00 to 12:00 on Saturday 17th January 2026 Due to Electrical Compliance work being carried out on Saturday morning we have to turn off the power in the YARD.
